JOINING GRACE

Becoming a Member of Grace

The requirements for membership at Grace Community Baptist Church are:

1. Personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

2. Belief that Grace Community is the place where God has led you to be committed.

The Procedure for joining Grace:

1. Completion of the Discovering Grace class. This is a fun, informative three-week class we offer three or four times a year for those wanting to learn more about Grace and its ministry, or for those who are considering becoming a member of the Grace family. We take a concise look at basic doctrine, goals, and the philosophy of ministry at Grace.

2. A brief (20 minute) meeting with one of the church council members. This is a time to get acquainted, ask any questions regarding Grace, and a time to affirm your commitment to the "Covenant of Membership."

3. Baptism. The Lord has commanded those who have personally encountered Him through saving faith to outwardly identify with Him through baptism (Matthew 2 and 19). If you have never taken this step of obedience to Christ, then you should at the time you are received into church membership at Grace. Please indicate your desire on your membership application and complete the baptism study.

4. Complete the membership packet.

5. On the council's recommendation, you will be presented and accepted into full membership during a Sunday morning service.
